About Me.

Hailed by the Philadelphia Inquirer as having “clarity and authority,” Nymka Odsuren has worked with the Long Bay Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra (Asia Tour 2017), Mongolian State Philharmonic, Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra, “Uran Khas” Chamber Orchestra, University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra, and East Carolina University Symphony Orchestra. His artistic versatility extends beyond the concert stage, as he has also conducted the pit orchestras for USC Dance’s XIII and XIV Annual Ballet Stars of New York Gala Performances. Nymka has held key leadership positions during his tenure in South Carolina, serving as Assistant Conductor of the Long Bay Symphony and Conductor of the Long Bay Youth Symphony.

Nymka’s musical sensibilities are strongly influenced by his life-long experience as a performing violinist. He began studying violin at the age of six at the Mongolian State Conservatory in Ulaanbaatar and was a prizewinner of the National Youth Strings Competition. He performed at music festivals in Istanbul, Moscow, Beijing, and Tianjin at an early age.

Nymka has given tour concerts in Austria and Slovenia while attending the United World College of the Adriatic as a Music Scholar in Duino, Italy before coming to the United States as a recipient of the UWC Davis Scholarship at Methodist University. He was a regular participant of the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival during his time at East Carolina University, where he studied with Ara Gregorian. His leadership and musicianship were further developed during his time as Concertmaster of the University of South Carolina Symphony Orchestra. Nymka is an active freelance violinist in the Southeast, regularly performing with orchestras such as Augusta Symphony, South Carolina Philharmonic, and the Long Bay Symphony.

Nymka lives in the Atlanta area, where he enjoys going on walks with his wife and spending time with his cats.
